A fashion company in New Jersey is actively seeking a dedicated and analytical professional to join their team as their new Staff Accountant. In this role, the Staff Accountant will provide support in the General Accounting area, as well as assist in the month-end closing process.ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Accountant will:Perform various general ledger account analysesPrepare and input journal entries as part of month-end closing processPrepare bank reconciliations and other schedules on an as needed basisMonitor daily cash and credit card reconciliations for more than 40 storesAssist with the reconciliation of E-CommercePerform Intercompany inputs and outputs as well as reconciliations monthlyPrepare Variable rent calculations and statements to LandlordsAnalyze capital expenditures and work with Store Planning to ensure timely acquisitionRecord Depreciation on a monthly basis and complete capital expenditure reconciliationsKeep up-to-date with property tax and business license payments for each storeRecord prepaids and prepare the monthly reconciliationsQualificationsDegree in AccountingAbility to work in an extremely fast-paced environment2+ years of prior accounting experienceAdvanced degree in Microsoft ExcelDetail-orientedGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong analytical skillsHighly organizedAbility to prioritize in order to meet deadlinesAbility to work independently
