Perks Job Details We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Technical Accountant to join our team at a leading energy company.
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring compliance
with SEC regulations, preparing technical accounting analyses, and
supporting financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a
strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and
a background in the energy sector or a similar industry. Key
Responsibilities: Responsibilities Evaluates accounting policies
and procedures to reflect changes in business conditions,
processes, and accounting Prepares more complex accounting
analyses. Supports the financial reporting process during the SEC
reporting periods through the preparation and/or review of
financial statement disclosures and supporting work papers. Reviews
filings for compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Enhances internal controls over financial reporting. Provides
consultation on complex SEC financial reporting matters. Provides
functional advice or training to less-experienced accountant
positions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
May direct the work of other staff members. Increases and applies
knowledge of legal and regulatory issues and changes in accounting
guidance. Researches the impact of new accounting standards issued
by the FASB, SEC and other regulatory bodies and provides ongoing
consultation on technical accounting inquiries from the
Controller’s Department organizations and the business lines.
Documents and reviews the results of this research with management.
Disseminates technical accounting updates to the Controller’s
Department staff and business lines. Participates in, or leads,
complex technical accounting projects to address accounting issues
and business line needs. Assists in the preparation and
presentation of technical accounting training for the Controller’s
Department staff. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,
Finance, or a related field (CPA required). 3–7 years of experience
in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or a combination of public
accounting and industry experience. Strong understanding of U.S.
GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting. Familiarity with
the energy or utility sector is a plus. Excellent analytical,
organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in
financial systems and tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP
systems). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Why Join
