Work for a world leading fully integrated silicone supplier with multiple manufacturing sites and R&D centers around the globe.-- The company produces a full range of silicone technology products for specialty markets covering a host of different industries.-- The company is looking to grow their market share with the addition of an experienced Business Development Manager who will assist and transform their growth plan of the rubber market in the Americas Region.-- Specifically, they are looking to grow market areas in automotive, construction, energy, safety cable, electronic vehicle, and cookware.-- This is a fantastic opportunity to start working for a great team-oriented company.

About the Job:

  • The Business Development Manager will be focused on Liquid Silicon Rubber (LSR) and Heat Cured Rubber (HCR)
  • The Business Development Manager will be a participant in customer meetings, in conjunction with Sales reps and Technical Service reps to better understand the requirements of the customer, and then lead internal support to monitor and move a portfolio of opportunities through the sales cycle to closure.-- You will be supporting growth in the rubber business in the Americas.-- ------------------------
  • It is crucial to have the ability to work with and influence internal cross-functional teams to ensure sales growth targets.-- ----
  • This person will use their business development manager experience to provide support to Sales, Legal, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Health/Safety/Environment functions to ensure project milestones are delivered to completion on time.--
  • Looking for a person that can use their skillset of impacting and influencing to assist Marketing and R&D in business case development for new technologies, product customization, and R&D product development projects related to LSR and HCR.-- ------------------------------------
  • He/she will have a high degree of understanding of the market, customer needs, industrial capabilities, and product strengths to increase growth.------------
  • The Business Development Manager must be able to conduct analyses of potential customers, along with current and future product offerings to choose the right targets to ensure success. Benchmarking on competition offer will also contribute to success in this BDM role. ------
  • Must be a key influencer on the future of the LSR and HCR business and must be proactive in working with customers and prospects to learn about future business potential to fit within the company's capabilities.-- Then must be able to present and persuade management as to the value and fit to company strategy of potential new business particularly if it will require investments in product development or capital investment.--
  • The success of the Business Development Manager will depend on his/her ability to manage the internal coordination of the sales strategy to commercial realization. ------
  • Collaboration with other team members will be necessary to re-apply success stories and increase sales in the North American region, and contribute to global growth of the rubber/custom compounding business.

    Job Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's or technical college degree in materials science or engineering, or related experience of at least 5 years in a similar or related position specifically in the LSR and/or HCR rubber market.-- ----
    • It is required to have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Technical Service, Sales or Marketing position with a Business to Business (B2B) company.-- Related experience in the elastomers market is required.-- ------
    • The Business Development Manager candidate must have a proven track record of developing profitable new business.-- --
    • Industrial or Manufacturing B2B company experience is preferred; but at a minimum must have a strong interface with production facility or plant project leadership experience.--
    • Must have knowledge of relevant end use applications (automotive, construction, wire and harness, home appliances, and electrical insulators) and the relationship between material properties and applications.--
    • Must possess knowledge of ancillary equipment, processes, and service providers.
    • Must assist Marketing and Sales in facilitating partnerships with outside service providers.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; be a team player.
    • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to interact with various levels and functions within the organization, both domestically and also internationally.--
    • Must have expertise in both team management as well as project management.
    • Ability to influence others in decision making with strong interpersonal, team and customer relationship building skills.------
    • Strong ability to analyze business opportunities for their impact on overall profitability.
    • Basic knowledge of financial processes.
    • Experience working in a functional and geographic matrix environment.
    • Strong customer orientation.--
    • Silicones technology detailed knowledge is highly desired.
    • Problem solver mindset.
    • Must be able to travel (approximately 40-60%).
