Job Description Job Description BronxWorks helps individuals and

variety of service areas, including workforce development,
children, youth, families, seniors and homeless prevention. The
ESOL Program offers English language instruction to adult
non-native speakers, enhancing their communication skills for
personal, academic, and professional growth. With a variety of ESL
courses, activities, strategies, and events, the program helps
learners overcome linguistic barriers and achieve their academic,
economic, and personal goals. This empowers them to give back to
their community and contribute meaningfully to society.
RESPONSIBILITIES Integrated Counseling: Counseling is an integral
part of literacy programming, designed to positively impact
participants’ academic, social, emotional, and personal
development. Individual Service Plans (ISP): The counselor will
collaborate with each student to identify their unique interests
and strengths to develop a comprehensive Individual Service Plan.
This plan must clearly outline long-term and short-term
educational, career, and personal development goals, accompanied by
the specific action steps required to achieve them. Skill
Development: Assist participants in developing essential skills,
including improved study habits, social skills, and time
management. Student Interaction & Tracking: Interact with students
on an ongoing basis to address their needs. All interactions must
be documented in the DYCD Participant Tracking System . Session
Targets: A minimum of 20 counseling sessions per week is expected.
Workshops & Events: Facilitate workshops and community events
focused on essential social services and resource navigation. Case
Management: Maintain meticulous case notes and Individualized
Service Plans (ISPs) to ensure accurate tracking of client
progress, goal achievement, and service delivery. General Support:
Perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor’s
degree in Social Work or a related field, plus experience working
with City systems (e.g., public assistance, child welfare,
education, and housing). An Associate’s degree and completion of
(or current enrollment in) Family Development Training (or other
DYCD-identified credentials). At least three (3) years of
successful experience in providing case management or counseling,
specifically including work with City systems such as public
assistance, child welfare, education, and housing. PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability
to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, or climb five
flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or
fieldwork. Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent
counties via public transportation. Ability to travel for a minimum
of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of
weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home
