Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the
development and optimization of manufacturing processes to support
efficient production and on-time delivery of customer orders. This
role involves estimating, process planning, tooling design, and
cross-functional coordination with internal teams and external
partners. Client Details A Newtown, PA-based company specializes in
advanced thermal spray coatings and precision machining services
for mission-critical components across industries such as
aerospace, defense, medical, and energy. Their capabilities include
HVOF, plasma, and wire arc coatings, as well as on-site milling,
turning, grinding, and surface finishing-all under one roof for
streamlined production and quality control. With a long-standing
history supporting high-performance applications, the company
offers functional coatings for wear resistance, thermal protection,
electrical insulation, and chemical barriers, positioning itself as
a one-stop provider for engineered surface solutions. Description
Core Responsibilities: Lead the preparation of detailed cost
estimates in response to customer RFQs, including operation
sequences, cycle times, tooling needs, outsourced services,
inspection plans, shipping strategies, and anticipated lead times.
Translate customer purchase orders and specifications into clear,
actionable manufacturing plans, including the creation and
maintenance of job standards, work travelers, and production
documentation. Design jigs, fixtures, and custom tooling to enhance
manufacturability, reduce production costs, and maintain compliance
with technical requirements, while balancing tool life and part
volumes. Continuously refine and update process documentation as
improvements are made or customer requirements evolve. Collaborate
with Production Control, Sales, and Procurement to align priorities
and ensure timely release of manufacturing documentation and
tooling in accordance with delivery schedules. Act as a technical
liaison to support shop floor activities, clarify job instructions,
and troubleshoot process issues when necessary. Profile Required
Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years in a regulated manufacturing
environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical device). Strong
proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word within the Office 365
suite. Skilled in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks or comparable
platforms. Proficient in reading and creating technical drawings
and applying GD&T. Hands-on experience with inspection tools
such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators. Knowledge of DFM
principles and ability to apply them during process planning.
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English. Job
Offer Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CAM software such
as SolidCAM or equivalent. Competency in G-code and M-code CNC
programming. Understanding of control systems, automation, and
basic robotic integration. Practical machining experience with
materials like stainless steel, Inconel, and other high-temp
alloys. Familiarity with additive manufacturing, especially FDM
printing technologies. Prior work creating detailed manufacturing
instructions and production routers. Ability to interpret
engineering specifications and standards (AMS, ASTM, etc.).
Exposure to special processes such as thermal spray coatings or
solid film lubricants. Experience working under quality systems
such as ISO 9001, AS9100, FAA Part 145, or NADCAP. MPI does not
