As a developer, investor and operator in the energy sector, we possess a unique combination of industry-specific expertise, resources and relationships that enable us to arrive at creative solutions to the current and future needs of our customers and investors LS Power is seeking a Regulatory Policy Manager to serve a key role in interfacing with the Midwest RTO's as well as federal, regional and state regulatory agencies. This position will focus on the MISO, SPP and ERCOT regions. The Regulatory Policy Manager is a high visibility position within and external to the organization. This individual develop and advocate for regulatory policies that support and expand a reliable decarbonization of the economy. The candidate will interface with various other departments in the organization including Asset Management, Business Development, Transmission Planning, Operations, and more. Responsibilities

• Develops and advocates for policies and regulations that promote the interests of LS Power working with key stakeholders, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), RTO staff and stakeholders, and State regulators and legislators.
• Leads the midwest wholesale market regulatory effort for LS Power.
• Actively keeps management abreast of regulatory developments to include periodic and ad hoc written and oral reporting. Assess business threats and opportunities. Prepare summaries of activity and reports for management review. Seek management approval for recommended strategies.
• Helps LS Regulatory Team develop policy and advocacy for issues that span national interests and multiple regions.
• Coordinates with regulatory and compliance functions to monitor ongoing regulatory and legal developments impacting LS Power. Support initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance with market rules and regulations.
• Provides guidance and direct assistance for colleagues engaged in state and federal advocacy.
• Provide intelligence on competitors, trends and other issues that impact LS Power

  • College degree (engineering, science/technical, or management field preferred but not required),
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable of the electric supply industry and FERC, RTO regulatory structure.
  • Self-motivated and able to function effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple assignments occasionally under time constraints
  • Strong decision-making skills.
