well-being.About the Job:Our Team:The Medical Head Vaccines North
America is a true business partner offering valuable medical
expertise in a compliant and ethical way; the role contributes to
the strategic objectives of Vaccines by managing the medical
organization in North America in accordance with internal
procedures and applicable regulations. -The Medical Head assures
the delivery of the medical strategy plan and scientific
activities, sharing medical expertise of functional areas such as
marketing, clinical development, pharmacovigilance and regulatory
in compliance with law, ethical/scientific principles, and Group
products strategy. He/she will promote, develop, and maintain
strong scientific and medical relationships, towards KOL and Public
Health Bodies. Her/his activity will increase scientific
credibility and ethical image of the Company facilitating and
encouraging Group's product strategy.The incumbent will -be a
highly motivated and visionary leader, with strong -leadership
--providing -strategic direction for the medical function based on
insights, knowledge, and industry experience-, -scientific
knowledge --credibility when engaging with internal and external
stakeholders, and capability to translate scientific insights into
strategic medical plans-, -health policy awareness, and with great
-people development skills --to lead a high performing team and
grow talent. Finally, the incumbent will also excel in operational
excellence & risk management, and will be a role mode of proactive
-compliance & quality -management.Main responsibilities:Define and
drive the overall medical strategy in the North America Vaccines
Medical team, in alignment with the business strategy
- Lead an annual process of developing, reviewing, and approving
of Country Medical Roadmap
- Ensure excellence in each chapter of the Medical Roadmap
including medical insight generation, medical stakeholder
engagement, medical education, building local medical
recommendations, and evidence generation
- Ensure Roadmaps are built as per the GloCal model principles
and are align with the GloCal franchise strategy
- Ensure Roadmaps are developed with local and regional
cross-functional input especially from ComOps and Public
Affairs
- Work in close collaboration with cross-functional partners to
develop and implement medical, real-world evidence and health
economic strategies to drive successful launches and implementation
of vaccination programs -Increase scientific credibility and
ethical image of the Company facilitating and encouraging Group's
product strategy. -
- Ensure high quality delivery of scientific evidence to internal
and -external customers.
- Lead -Scientific and public health engagement strategy to
ensure KOL networks are built and sustained in alignment with
planned launches, and public and private market access
strategy
- -Represent the company in the external meetings with experts,
HCP, RKI, MOHs, professional associations, media etc.Maximize team
performance to achieve high impact locally, regionally, and

- Lead and develop the Medical North America organization (55-60
people)
- Ensure the team is at the correct competency level to execute
on the company's strategic priorities
- Ensure the team has clear and prioritized objectives with SMART
Key Performance Indicators -
- Provide team frequent and situational feedback to maximize
their performance
- Foster learning and encourage thoughtful risk taking within the
North America Medical team by sharing best practices and innovative
initiativesWise stewardship of company resources to maximize impact
- Be accountable for the region's headcount and operating
expenses
- Ensure resources are allocated to highest impact projects
across the region and facilitate prioritization
- Proactively identify business efficiencies for the rest of the
portfolio, via fixed OPEX ratio activating portfolio/ footprint and
other simplification opportunities.
- Ensure seamless roll-out and implementation of new Sanofi
initiatives (ie : Leveraging data and AI) to accelerate & scale -up
new operating models & medical best practicesCore membership of
Medical Leadership Teams
- Ensure close collaboration with Global Medical Franchise teams
and other Regional Medical teams in Vaccines, as well as other GBU
Medical Heads of NA to capture synergies, cross-regional best
practices and manage talent development
- Active participation, as a core member, in the Vaccines Medical
Leadership Team (MLT) -
- Partner with other MLT members -in developing and executing
communications targeted at the Medical departmentExemplary
leadership on ethical business practices
- Ensure culture and systems throughout the region lead to strong
compliance with Sanofi principles, processes, and regulations.
- Ensure business partners and country teams are trained on key
medical compliance processes relating with Health Care Practitioner
engagements, SP-sponsored events, transparency, and local and
regional clinical and epidemiology studies
- Prepare local teams for internal and external audits, support
them through the audit process and take accountability for
implementation of any corrective actionsAbout You -:
- Education: -Medical Degree preferable or PhD with significant
vaccinology or infectious disease expertise (e.g. Virology/
Microbiology/ Respiratory Medicine/ pediatric or public
health)
- Experience: -Significant experience in clinical development/
real world evidence, launches and post-marketing medical activities
on a global level. Experience working with regulatory authorities.

- Skills: -
- At least 10 years leadership and management experience in
medical activities or other aspects of the life sciences, including
budget management and preferably leading an international team
- Experience in leading transformation & building efficiencies at
local and international level
- Highly team oriented with outstanding interpersonal skills and
ability to collaborate effectively with other groups, as well as a
demonstrated ability to see the big picture and develop project
strategies while not losing focus on project specifics.
- Strong commitment to achieving corporate objectives while
maintaining the highest ethical, regulatory, and scientific
standards is required.
