Job Description:
Posting Summary Dr. Tutwiler’s lab is seeking a highly motivated
candidate to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team studying the
biomechanics of blood clots in health and disease. The research
will focus on understanding the mechanical properties of blood
clots , including clot contraction, rupture resistance, and
embolization potential , with relevance to thrombotic disorders
such as venous thromboembolism ( VTE ) and pulmonary embolism (PE)
and bleeding such as in gum disease . This project combines
elements of hematology, biomechanics, and translational medicine ,
and aims to improve the understanding of how clot structure and
function contribute to embolic risk — ultimately informing
diagnostics and therapeutic strategies.
