Summary / Objective:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for compiling and recording employee time/payroll data through a variety of sources. May compute employees' time worked production, wages, and deductions, or prepare paychecks. The Payroll Specialist reviews timecards for accuracy and completion. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Compile all payroll and timecard information from electronic sources, and paper timecards
    • Process timecards from a variety of sources in the Microsoft Great Plains system
      • Ensure the information is entered into the system correctly for processing
        • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll
          • Enters garnishment information accurately and timely
            • Ensures compliance with all state and federal wage and hour laws
              • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
                • Poll time keeping systems and software to review and download information for completeness and accuracy
                  • Run a missing time report weekly, to make sure that we are paying employees accurately and timely
                    • Contact various sales and client service managers for any missed time
                      • Process weekly timecards
                        • Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment within the organization
                          • Facilitates employee understanding of payroll procedures

                            Education Requirement:

                            Required Education and Experience:

                            No required education and experienced needed for this position.

                            Preferred Education and Experience- Associates Degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school. Two or more years of related experience or training. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
