Job Description Job Description Primary Job Title: Phlebotomist – 1st Shift Alternate / Related Job Titles: • Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) • Clinical Phlebotomist • Laboratory Phlebotomy Technician • Patient Care Phlebotomist • Mobile Phlebotomist Location & Onsite Flexibility: Jamaica, NY ( Onsite ) Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: Approximately 2 months Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: $17.00 – $21.00/hr Shift / Hours: • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM • Alternating Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM Job Overview The Phlebotomist – 1st Shift (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the front-facing representative of the organization, delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate blood collection services. This role supports diagnostic testing while maintaining patient trust , specimen integrity , and strict adherence to quality, safety, and confidentiality standards. Primary Duties & Responsibilities • Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. • Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures. • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing with skill and precision. • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company policies. • Ensure a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment at all times. • Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a strong focus on confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. • Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. Skills & QualificationsRequired Skills • Excellent phlebotomy skills , including pediatric and geriatric collections. • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. • Strong customer service and communication skills. • Keyboarding and data entry proficiency. Preferred Skills • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment . • Medical assistant or paramedic training. Additional Requirements • Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required. • New York State credential/license required . Education & Experience • Required: High school diploma or equivalent. • Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA). • Experience: – Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required . – One (1) year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
