lists. Overview We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and
passionate Associate Principal Scientist to lead discovery and
development campaigns focused on next-generation biotherapies and
gene editing technologies. The candidate will work within a
multidisciplinary team focused on the design, engineering,
characterization, formulation development, and translational
pharmacology models of ground-breaking biotherapeutics.
Responsibilities Responsibilities Drive biomolecular engineering
and pharmacology efforts within Insmed research projects, including
strategy and methods development Handle, mentor, and develop a team
of project scientists focused on protein engineering and
next-generation gene editing technologies Conceptualize, construct,
validate, and implement high throughput screening platforms to
enable candidate selection from large panels and/or combinatorial
libraries of engineered protein variants Develop, validate, and
deploy functional and pharmacological assays to characterize
protein performance in vitro and in vivo Establish and handle
partnerships with research teams from computational biology,
immunology, bioanalytical, in vivo, and formulation science
Establish and handle partnerships with cross functional team
members from DMPK, toxicology, translational bioanalytics,
technical operations, and program management Maintain accurate,
detailed, and timely records of methods development, experimental
data, and data analysis in an electronic notebook system and
technical reports Perform data review to ensure accuracy,
completeness, and validity Present scientific results to the larger
Insmed research group and external scientific community, as needed
Assist with coordination and day-to-day management of site
operations Qualifications Requires a minimum of a PhD and 9 years
of experience in molecular and cellular biology, bioengineering,
biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, or related field Must have
demonstrated management and leadership experience Deep expertise in
therapeutic gene editing required Requires mastery of applied
molecular and cellular biology, protein biochemistry, recombinant
DNA technology, protein mutagenesis, and high throughput library
screening Experience with translational in vivo models of genetic
disease and therapeutic gene therapy/editing required Excellent
communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
required Highly organized with attention to detail, clarity,
accuracy, and conciseness Salary Range $135,000 - $189,667 a year
